Vanessa Wotherspoon has worked for several regional education centres and has been contracted through a number of post-secondary and community organizations to conduct assessments. The results of an assessment can help to understand a person's profile of learning strengths and challenges. A comprehensive assessment also helps students, parents, and teachers better understand an individual's abilities, and target support and programming. Vanessa brings a deep understanding of how learning challenges present in school, and she is able to make specific recommendations to help parents advocate for their children's learning needs. She also understands the importance of helping people discover their own strengths and needs and become their own advocate. In addition to the formal reports, Vanessa believes in writing an additional youth-friendly report to help students better understand their strengths and areas to work on.
